Jordan’s Summer Memories
What initially started out as a disaster last summer turned into the best day of the summer. We were on our way to some friends house in somerset and about three hours into the drive the car decided it didn’t want to go any further. There was a puff of black smoke and the car broke down.
We were stranded down some country lane two and a half hours from our friend’s house with a 2, 4 and 7-year-old plus our 2 labradors. It was boiling hot and the kids were getting restless. We called our breakdown provider and were told we would have a 2-hour wait. The dogs and kids were starting to turn crazy, so we decided to go for a walk. We set off down a public footpath which obviously hadn’t been used for years.
After about 15 minutes we came across a stream with lovely clear water and decided that we were so hot we may as well get in. We all have a blast and ended up soaking wet and crying with laughter. I ran back to the car and got the pavlova I had made for dessert and sat by the water and ate it with spoons.
It was such a magical experience that we are heading back to the same spot next week. This time with a picnic and towels. The children refer to it as our magical fairy land.
Here at Hangerworld, we have loved being part of all your Summer Memories. Thank you to everyone who has entered our Summer Competition.
