Do you have a phobia of coat hangers? We have the Solution
A fear of heights, creepy crawlies and even social situations are all recognised phobias, but have you ever heard of a fear of coat hangers?
As outlandish as it might sound, it does exist and with pint sized Aussie superstar, Kylie Minogue publically revealing her anxiety for the common coat hanger, it’s not as uncommon or unimaginable as previously thought.
During an interview with Elle Magazine in 2010, Kylie spoke about how she hated the sound and sight of hangers and how she has had a wardrobe specifically designed for her clothes as she refuses to hang them up:
"The problem is I hate putting things on hangers.
"I have a hanger phobia - I don't like the way they sound when you put them in the wardrobe."
Talking about her wardrobe, she added: "It's a room in my home where everything is laid out. It never looks like other people's wardrobes.”
As a result of Kylie’s unlikely admission, people flocked to internet discussion boards such as Yahoo Answers to share their coat hanger phobias.
Kylie is clearly not alone with her coat hanger fear, but how many other stylish celebrities make similar claims about unusual phobias?
There are even reports of a phobia of wardrobes!
According to previous news reports Nicole Kidman is scared silly by butterflies, Tommy Lee Jones has a bizarre fear of clothes labels, Pamela Anderson is panicked by mirrors and Johnny Depp and Daniel Radcliffe run a mile in the presence of clowns.
